Stock X- Product Sense 1

I started to publish my product reviews. Publishing will push me to improve my writing and analysis process; feel free to share your feedback.

I Googled Stock X because I’d seen an article about the company introducing Web 3 components. I haven’t used Stock X, I understand it’s a shopping website, but that’s as far as my knowledge goes.

1. What do you think the purpose of this product is? Who do you think it’s for?

I see options for sneakers, seems like a sneaker website. There’s one thing different, their pricing options. Similar to eBay, it seems there’s a “Lowest Ask” and “Last Sale” I assume it’s an auction website rather than a standard ecommerce site.

Scrolling down the page, I can see mostly sneakers. I see a few options for Lego and clothing, but as I scroll back up the page, I forget about them and summarise my understanding of the website — It’s a sneaker resale site for buyers of 2nd hand/expensive sneakers.

2. Now that you’re in the product, what actions do you want to take?

If I’m a buyer, the website seems to work like many e-commerce sites, click, buy.

If I’m a seller, the sell button is available in the top right of the website. There’s a 3 step process on how I can sell my sneakers. I click through to the next section, and I’m asked

I’m confused; as a seller, I’m looking to sell something; why am I needing to find a product to look for?

What are you thinking right now? How does that make you feel?

When I first arrived at the website, I still wasn’t sure what Stock X did, and after selecting an item to buy, I still didn’t fully understand why I’d prefer to buy now or place a bid. I was confused and frustrated, and I was searching for the web 3 component.

After clicking around for a minute, I clicked on the “About” page and found a tagline that would have helped me a few minutes ago….

I’m relieved; the about page explains it all, it's interactive and explanatory. I wish I had been prompted earlier in my experience.

I found the NFT section in the navbar and headed straight through. Yet again, I see a similar interface as the sneakers, I’m confused why these are NFTs when they look like sneakers…
